Transcription : ON THIS SITE WAS MILL [OLD MILL - MILLBAY] GAOL / WHERE OVER 1,500 AMERICAN SAILORS / WERE HELD IN CAPTIVITY DURING THE / WAR FOR AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE / 1777-1783. / THIS PLAQUE PLACED BY THE / NATIONAL SOCIETY SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION / 1997.
