Physical Description : Small vase with fluted, square lip. Decorated with a blue-green salt glaze and swimming fish.

Historical associations : The Martin Brothers moved to Southall in 1877 and soon insects, birds and fish began to appear in their work as shown here. The factory looked out onto the Grand Junction Canal and the Martin Brothers would have seen all of these creatures. Some people even describe this work as the Martin Brothers' 'Canal Bank Period' because of the strong connection.
