Physical Description : Spoon warmer with open mouth in the form of an animal head with large curling horns. Mottled brown salt-glaze.

Historical associations : This spoon warmer is a perfect grotesque. It has horns like a ram, fur like an animal and also a great big smile which makes it quite human. By combining animal and human characteristics Robert Wallace Martin has created quite an unsettling piece.
