Physical Description : Small dark brown-black salt glaze pot. Round in form with surface bumps, highlighted by a lighter glaze underneath.
Historical associations : The dark brown and blacks produced as a result of salt-glazing were very appropriate to the Martin Brothers' choice of natural subject matter. It also coincided with the Arts and Crafts movement which preferred the use of subdued and restrained colours to echo nature.
