General Description : A photograph showing a view of the forecastle of the Duncan class pre-dreadnought battleship HMS MONTAGU (1901) aground off Lundy Island looking forward from up the forward mast, there men working on hoisting a salvage pontoon (camel) onto the port bow of the ship in the bottom left of the image. Labelled as ‘The forecastle taken from the fore top observe the boilers etc. The bow shifted in 16 feet after this was taken during a gale’ and is No. 30 in a series of images titled ‘The Loss of H.M.S. "MONTAGU". May 30th 1906'.
