General Description : A photograph showing a view from a boat of the quarterdeck of the Duncan class pre-dreadnought battleship HMS MONTAGU (1901) aground off the island, the sea is washing over the deck and another battleship can be seen in the background. Labelled as ‘Quarterdeck awash - during this time work was difficult to carryout’ and is No. 10 in a series of images titled ‘The Loss of H.M.S. "MONTAGU". May 30th 1906'.
