Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park

Mount Edgcumbe House is the former home of the Earls of Mount Edgcumbe. Set in Grade I Cornish Gardens within 865 acres Country Park on the Rame Peninsula, South East Cornwall.

Whether you are searching for a venue for a family outing or group visit, enthused by the magnificent Grade I Cornish gardens and famous historic house, combining your visit with a cruise of the River Tamar, looking for a civil wedding venue or viewing the national collection of camellias you are invited to come and explore, enjoy, learn its history or even dream awhile.

Mount Edgcumbe House was first built in the 1500s and was restored after World War Two. It is jointly owned by Cornwall Council and Plymouth City Council and is one of the regions most popular historic tourist destinations.

The House and Earl's Garden (admission charged) re-opens for the season on Sunday 2 April to Thursday 28 September 2017 (closed on Thursday 21st September).  It is open Sunday to Thursday and bank holiday Mondays between 11am and 4.30pm (last admission at 4pm). Tickets for the House can be purchased from the gift shop inside the House during normal opening times. Group bookings can also be arranged in March and October.

Special Winter Opening

Guided House Tours are available on Sunday between October and April, 11am-4pm.  Tickets can be pre booked by calling 01752 822 236 or drop into the House on the day to buy your ticket.

The wider park is open year round, daily from 8am to dusk and is free to the public. The free area of the park includes the National Camellia Collection and the majority of the formal gardens.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live at Mount Edgcumbe surrounded by 865 acres of Grade I listed landscape, well now you can actually find out! We are pleased to announce that we now have two beautiful holiday lets available on the park where you can relax and enjoy this wonderful place.

Cremyll Lodge

Cremyll Lodge located at Cremyll Gate in the lower Park is a lovely one bedroom property with its own private garden. Sleeping up to four people it’s your home away from home with views over the Tamar River.

Horseshoe Cottage

Horseshoe Cottage is located in the heart of the park at the Barrow Centre. With two bedrooms there is plenty of room to spread out. Sleeping up to four people this light and airy cottage has a cosy woodburner to snuggle up to after a hard day exploring the local area.

The Stables Cafe is an informal place for families, friends and locals to gather and enjoy. Our menu focuses on homemade, freshly prepared and locally sourced dishes. We cater for all tastes with breakfasts, light lunches, hot dishes, drinks and homemade cakes and scones. With seating inside and out, we are here whatever the weather.

The Orangery Garden Café & Exclusive Wedding Venue.

Aunty Em's Gatehouse - now open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm serving delicious snacks and drinks, plus all the essentials for a day out in the park, not forgetting some beautiful locally produced gifts to take away as a reminder of your day here at the park.

Disc Golf

The first of its kind in Devon and Cornwall, Disc Golf is a 13 hole foxed basket Frisbeecourse utilising the closely mown sections of the park near the Ice House and in front of the main House. With most holes having to starting positions the course is suitable for both family and advanced players. In addition to individual and family bookings we also welcome team building events, schools, hen and stag weekends.  It’s new different so come along and have a go!

Adventure Segway

Adventure Segway is all about being adventurous outdoors. Join us on a breathtaking and action packed journey on board an all terrain Segway. It’s a demanding mental and physical experience. You'll effortlessly glide along the coastal footpath before tackling more challenging features such as balance beams, bunny hills and ski-style hill descents.
